National Motor Museum, Beaulieu
Developing a master plan which involved a 6 month process of consultation, workshops, exhibit audit and production of a full concept design. This then allowed the detail design process to evolve into the implementation stage. The implemented phase is now underway. The detail design and installation is being implemented in a series of managed phases to cause the least disruption to the museum. This is necessary as the museum has had to stay open to visitors throughout. To that end site installation time is minimised and kept to less busy periods.
The brief was to create substantially more display area, improve and increase accessibility to the substantial film archive and exhibits to enable considerably more of the museum's collection to be on permanent display.
This project is on going with most of the structural and architectural works complete. Far Post Design have acted as lead and design consultant for the project. With responsibility to structural engineers, audio visual and lighting consultants, contractors, project management and budget management.
Exhibitions include 'The Land Speed Record', 'Motorcycle Story' and 'The Shell Story'.
